What is Currently the best Cisco Training for Certification Exams?

Written By Harris Andrea

Read until the end of this article to see how you can get a complete CCNA Training for around $20 and a complete CCNP Training for around $50.

Cisco Certifications have always been among the most valuable professional qualifications to obtain since they offer huge opportunities in career advancement. Earning a certification like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNA Security, CCNP Security etc, will show to your potential employer that you are a highly skilled and motivated professional.

A lot of my colleagues and visitors of my website have been asking me this question all the time: What is the best Cisco Training that one can take to pass Cisco exams?

There are several options for preparing for Cisco Certifications. The classical way is to read the official Cisco Press books (or maybe third party books) for each exam you want to take. Back in 2001-2002 when I passed my CCNA and CCNP Certifications, studying from books was the only option. However, over the years a lot of training companies started utilizing the online resources to offer web-based trainings, based primarily on video courses.

In my opinion, the best type of preparation for a Cisco Certification is with a Video Training. The picture below shows the study efficiency of video training compared with the conventional book study method. Research has shown that within 1 hour of studying, the average user retains 63% more information with video training compared to book study.

My Recommendations for the best Cisco Training:

In 2010 an online training portal has raised the bar, offering the cheapest and best online training for almost any topic imaginable. This is UDEMY (www.udemy.com). This training portal brings together some of the best instructors in the world who offer their expertise to teach millions of students online.

In their own words:

“…to democratize education, for us that means two things:
1) Enabling the top experts in the world to teach any student, anywhere, and
2) Radically lowering the price point on a top quality education.”

Udemy offers several Cisco Trainings, but I would recommend the courses from Chris Bryant. Chris is a CCIE certified professional (CCIE #12933) with more than a decade of experience in teaching Cisco courses. He truly knows Cisco Networking, but most importantly he knows what knowledge and material you need to learn in order to pass your exams. He goes into the appropriate depth to make sure all topics required to pass the exam are fully covered.

Here are the Cisco Trainings I highly recommend from Udemy:

    Siva,

Right now the best value for money are Udemy training courses. If you also have time, I recommend the official Cisco press books for each certification exam (that’s how I obtained all my certifications, with the good old book !!).

    Hi.
I would like to start my career in CISCO.
I have no knowledge of it however I do have a few years ecperience in Desktop Support. Help Desk, some server support.
How do I start? Is CCENT a good start?

    Thank you
    Nick

Nick, CCENT certification will be end-of-life soon. The new related entry level certification is the CCST Networking (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/training-events/training-certifications/certifications/entry.html#~ccst-networking) so I recommend to pursue that one instead of CCENT.

    Hope that helps

    Harris
